Weekend at the Cottage

This weekend I went to the cottage. The cottage isn't really ours it belongs to my godparents but we go there every summer. The drive there is really long. We had to cross Montreall and laval. Then drive for along time. Then when we get there we need to park and unload our bags and wait for a boat because you can't drive to the cottage. The oat ride took abou ten min. We left my grandma's house at 4:00 and arrived at the cottage at 8:00.
At the cottage there is no tv so we amuse ourselves through cards and puzzles and games and reading. Outside we have kayaking and swiming. This weekend sucked because it rained a lot but that just means more puzzles and games and cards and reading. This weekend was weird because I did not want to read which is unusual for me. This weekend I learned how to play joker rummy it's a card game. I didn't get to play my own hand because there where too many players but next time I will get to play.
When swimming at the cottage we jump off of a dock. The water is deep because we swim in a lake. The water being deep is a good thing because the bottom is probably slimy. This weekend I hade to tread water. I haven't had to in past visits because I wore a life jacket. This weekend I didn't because I've grown more confident and my swimming skills have improved.
Nine people sleep in two bedrooms and a porch. Our whole famalie sleeps in a room with a bunk bed. We sleep with my parents on the bottom and us on the top. When there is more of us someone has to sleep on the couch.
Overall doing puzzles and playing cards was fun. So was playing games. Yet it was seeing the Wyshes that made this weekend a blast.

Dragon Vale

On this very same ipad that I'm writing this blog post is one of my favorite games, Dragon Vale. In Dragon Vale you get one or two types of dragon to start raising new and exciting dragons as the first ones aren't very exciting.

In Dragon Vale you have a park that is on a floating island in the air. As you progress you advance in levels and every level you get new and cool stuff wether you like the things or not you get them. I'm going to get a new sort of dragon.

I've been playing for a while but beginners should remember to check their list of goals as this will help a bit. As you progress you will achieve more islands for placing habitats on as fire dragons will not live in the same place as earth or metal dragons.

The Perch Of Kairos is something you will achieve sometime after you buy your second island. Once you've collected all the pieces of the pieces Kairos will come. When Kairos comes to your park time will speed up in it.

On my first time playing I missed a lot of chances like clearing up islands and getting gems which are important. Those chances now are gone. How ever I am always looking to expand and get some dragons that ever since I discovered them. I am getting better but the thing that in the beginning helped me the most was breeding dragons. Dragon breeding is risky but it is the best way to obtain free dragons. Food farms are a good starter in feeding dragons but when you have the colocium and the racing track you can sell the farms and make some money. In the colocium or the race track there are certain dragons for certain events. If you have any dragons you cannot keep put them in hibernation cave once you get it.

My time at camp

I just got back from camp. My camp is a sleep-away camp and I stay there for one week. While there I usually do gimp, gimp is taking three or four pieces of plastic string and weaving them together. This year at camp I played and discussed chess a lot and one of the counselors in cabin 2 (in which there was 2 counselors) made a checkmate in four moves. My cabin was cabin 3, I shared it with 4 other campers and one counselor.

Wide game is a game that everybody but staff and counselors play. Unless its rainy it's an outdoors game if it is rainy than it's indoors some of the games are blob tag, rainbow tag and capture the flag. My personal favorite out of all the games we played was detective. The way you play detective is you seat everybody who's playing in a circle and pick a detective then when the detective has gone where he cannot see or hear you. Then you pick a murderer. The murderer kills people by winking at them. The detective must find the murderer.

At camp we have a system called the secret buddy system where everybody gets a buddy that they have to give gifts to secretly. Then at the end everybody reveals their secret buddy. I made most of my gifts down by the water where we swim

Down at camp I have the best time of my life. In our show at the end of the week I played the recorder. That was my fourth year at camp. The camp is in southern-Québec if you wish to lern more or plan on attending the camp next year

Book Review 001: The Black Lotus: The Samurai Wars

I was lucky enough to receive some advance reader copies of some novel from our local bookstore. In
exchange, I agreed to review the books for them. I have decided to write the reviews on my blog. This way, more people will be able to read them.

I started with "The Block Lotus: The Samurai Wars" by Kieran Fanning. Here is what I thought.

Title: The Black Lotus: The Samurai Wars
Author: Kieran Fanning

Genre: Fantasy
Release Date: September 27th, 2016
Summary:
An evil samurai empire is taking control of the world. The leader of the empire is looking for a sword guarded by a secret group of ninjas. This group of ninjas, called The Black Lotus, is made up of members with special powers recruited from around the world. The story follows three young recruits as they travel back to sixteenth-century Japan to recover the Moon sword when it is stollen.

Was it any good?:
The story was thrilling when the kids storm a sixteenth-century castle to get the moon sword. Each  chapter is from a new perspective from one of the trio of friends. The story got unexciting when damage happened to a country which was being attacked by the empire and I heard about it from three different points of view. I would change the story by having the ninja use more ninjutsu and less technology.

Who would like it?:
People who like fantasy should give this book a try, people who like action even more so. People who like both are in for a treat.
Overall recommendation:
I give this four out of five fingers.
